About Accent Letters

A missing accent can leave a name or word spelled incorrectly. Accent Letters gives you a quick way to find the character you need and put it into your writing.

Find a letter without changing your keyboard

The A–Z character library groups letters by their base character. Search for a letter, an accent name or a Unicode value, then choose lowercase or uppercase. Click a character to copy it into a message, document or other text field.

You can also open a letter guide to compare similar marks. Each guide explains the available forms and includes character codes for times when copying alone is not enough.

A place to write accented text

The accent keyboard lets you put a whole name, sentence or message together. Hover over a letter on a computer or hold a key on a phone to see its accent options. Copy your finished text when you are ready to use it elsewhere.

Practical typing references

The ALT code directory separates Windows shortcuts from Unicode reference values. The letter guides also explain the Unicode method in Word. Because fonts, apps and keyboard settings differ, check the result where you plan to use it.

Free tools, no account

The tools at theaccentletters.com are free to use and do not require registration. The writing area works in your browser; copy anything you want to keep before closing or refreshing the page.

Help improve a character or guide

If a code gives the wrong result or a letter is missing, send us the character and page address. Details about your device and app help us understand the issue.
